New Palmetto Library Groundbreaking!

The Atlanta-Fulton Public Library System is once again breaking ground on what will soon be the new Palmetto Library! Please join us for the Groundbreaking Event on Thursday, January 30 at 11:00 a.m. The address of the future library is 9111 Cascade Palmetto Highway, Palmetto, GA 30268. Interested attendees should RSVP to: 404-730-1972 or laura.wright@fultoncountyga.gov by Friday, January 24. We certainly hope to see you there!

And for continuing updates to our Library Building Program, be sure and check the website often and click the "Your New Libraries - News and Updates" link at the top of the page.

The Library System is engaged in a $275 million building program, funded by a library bond referendum approved by Fulton County voters in 2008. The project is divided into two phases.
Phase I of the Library Building Program consists of 10 projects, 8 new libraries – Alpharetta, East Roswell, Milton, Northwest Atlanta, Palmetto, Southeast Atlanta, Stewart-Lakewood and Wolf Creek – and 2 expanded libraries – Auburn Avenue Research Library on African American Culture and History and South Fulton – with a total budget of $167 million; these dollars include everything from design and construction to funding for collections.

Follow our progress as we move forward and build for the future!
